HI, I'M IKE.

I'm a Chicago-based designer, developer, illustrator, and creative strategist: the team of one behind Teeny Mammoth Studio.

I started Teeny Mammoth to work closer with creative founders, purpose-driven businesses, and nonconformists building a more caring and creative world. Wearing many hats myself allows for a personal, streamlined process to create what you need. More than a hybrid designer/developer, I view myself as a strategic partner who executes.

I've worked across brand, website, and product design over the past 6+ years, both freelance and in-house at one of the fastest-growing tech startups in the US. Beyond design, my coding background and Webflow expertise lets me turn ideas into stunning experiences.

I’m driven by empathy, play, humor, and common sense just as much as technical training and research, and I believe that’s a necessary part of designing something worth interacting with. If you like what you see, drop me a line!

How I Operate

Wonder & Experimentation

A beautiful design comes from simple ingredients: typography, color, layout, illustration, images, logos, symbols, and words.

My role is to explore to your company’s history, vision, personality and industry, then dig into the creative connections that’ll resonate with your team and audience. From there I polish those ideas into cohesive visuals and experiences. Fun, right?

Strategy & Precision

In many creative teams, different people handle the top-level goals and strategy versus the day-to-day project management and creative details.

I’ve spent years honing all of it: strategic thinking, design taste, and the technical chops to execute the crucial aspects of brand and website design. You’ll deal with an all-in-one expert and executor, so nothing gets outsourced or lost in translation.

Behind the Name

Why Teeny Mammoth?
In the Dordogne region in southwest France, there’s an underground enclosure called Rouffignac Cave (also known as “The Cave of the Mammoths”). It has 150+ prehistoric drawings of woolly mammoths from 13,000-15,000 years ago—the highest concentration in the world.
Picture it: before any traceable civilization, countless generations of humans lived in or around the natural terrain of the cave. And between the grueling demands of hunting, gathering, traveling, and resting, some of them made paint and drew a shit ton of mammoths.
Not long after, mammoths went extinct. But the art lives on as a poignant reminder of human nature’s weird, lovable desire to hyperfixate on a thing and learn to do it really well.
Teeny Mammoth Studio is my own version of that desire: to get amazing at something and do it all the time. To make something pretty out of a blank slate. To put my mark on the world by helping you make yours, and hope that we’re all better for it.
Digital strategy, creative iteration, technical web development: these are the hard skills of making an idea a pursuable reality in our modern age. It’s all beautiful, humbling, absurd, and absolutely worth doing—because with a little focus, a teeny human can do massive things.
If you know your thing, I’d love to help you with it.

Kind Words
I'm already thinking about what excuse I can find to work with him again.
In just a short period of time, he got up to speed on the history, ethos, and unique positioning of the brand and delivered something beyond what we could have expected. He developed clear and easy to understand guidelines, rules, and suggestions for use that will allow us to take full advantage of everything he built. He pushed us further as a brand and we could not be more thankful.

I'm so glad I got to work with Ike on our new site for Dawn.
There are plenty of things to like about Ike: he comes with a sharp POV, communicates well, and always delivers high caliber work. But above all else, as trivial as it might sound, he cares deeply. And it shows in every aspect of the project, from kickoff to handoff. Ike is the type of trusted partner you want on a project.
